McColl Center AFR Networker

Posted in: Blog Sep 13 2015

Last year we were asked to design a space for the AFR Networker Event. The theme of the event was embrace your senses. The McColl Center for Visual Art made the perfect backdrop to do just that.  Guests walked in through a fully functioning art studio. They were then greeted by delicious cupcakes by Cake Expressions by Lisa.

The space lent itself to a very masculine man-cave feel, so of course we chose beautiful dark tones. Jay with In Bloom, Ltd added great pops of orange in his flower arrangements. That color palette was carried through with the lighting done by Charlotte Event Lighting.

Partnering with Queen City Catering, guests had the opportunity for a blind taste test; From a Vine, From the Sea, and With Legs. It was so much fun watching everyone try things, not having any idea what they were eating! Would you believe that the “with legs” were roasted crickets!! Who is that masked man?! Why of course it is David Klingel!

What a fun night it was and the whole evening was captured beautifully by Julie Staley of Old South Studios.
